VIDEO: Katy Perry’s Super Bowl Sharks Revealed In New SportsCenter Commercial
Katy Perry’s infamous Left and Right Sharks have been revealed (kind of) in a new ESPN commercial for “SportsCenter.” The spot premiered on Tuesday, a little more than a week after Perry’s Super Bowl Halftime Show made her costumed dancers instant stars. Watch the video below!
The 30-second spot shows the two sharks pull up to ESPN’s headquarters in snowy Connecticut, a long way from the hot Arizona desert where Left Shark’s awkward dancing turned him into a Super Bowl meme. Once the two sharks get inside, they pull off their costumes and reveal themselves to be ESPN anchors John Anderson and Bram Weinstein.
“Man, I can’t believe they sent us down there to work,” complains Anderson. “Me either,” says Weinstein. “Hey, I wasn’t too out of sync, was I?” Anderson answers, “No. And if you were, I bet nobody even noticed.” Get it? It’s funny because everyone noticed! And because the mysterious sharks were really famous sportscasters!
Perry’s Super Bowl Halftime Show featured a lot of spectacular moments, but in its aftermath, a lot of people focused on the behavior of Left Shark, who seemed a little out of step with the routine. We’re glad we finally know who is to blame. Watch the new “This is ‘SportsCenter'” commercial below, and tell us what you think.
