“Katy Tries A New Brand,” reads a headline from The Sun, which claims Katy Perry is moving on from ex Russell Brand with the help of a “mystery man.”
The paper breathlessly reports that the singer was seen on Tuesday “at Los Angeles Airport laughing and joking with the handsome bearded stranger as they enjoyed time together.”

Of course, The Sun – and other outlets that picked up the story – not only don’t have a clue who the unnamed gentleman is, but also couldn’t be bothered to take a few minutes to investigate.
