Katy Perry did not send Miranda Kerr an expensive engagement present, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it “didn’t happen.”

According to the repeatedly discredited OK!, Perry took the “high road” and “presented Miranda with a statement-making gift upon learning of her engagement to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel.” As Gossip Cop previously reported in July, Kerr announced her engagement to Spiegel, naturally on Snapchat, with a photo of her diamond engagement ring and a caption that read, “I said yes!!!” Now, claims a so-called “insider” for the tabloid, Kerr’s ex-husband, Orlando Bloom, and Perry gave the model “a $13,000 rose quartz crystal sphere,” which she “loved” because she’s into crystal healing.

The magazine alleges the supposed gift “worked.” “[Perry] got Miranda’s stamp of approval right away, as did Evan from Orlando,” adds the publication’s question “insider.” Eerily, the tabloid ends its inaccurate article by editorializing, “Can’t wait for group vacations!”

Gossip Cop is going to go on a limb that based on the current vacation in Sardinia, Italy, during which Orlando Bloom was photographed nude, with his penis visible, there’s a good chance Spiegel may have little interest in going on a “group” vacation with his Kerr, Perry, and Bloom. In any event, Gossip Cop looked into the engagement present claim, and we’re exclusively assured by a source close to the situation that while all parties are amicable, the crystal gift “didn’t happen.”

We’re not entirely shocked by the falsity of the tabloid’s story. In February 2015, Gossip Cop exclusively corrected the publication when it wrongly reported on its cover that Perry was pregnant with John Mayer’s baby. A month later, in a public apology, OK! magazine admitted Perry was not pregnant. While the latest claim won’t get a retraction, let Gossip Cop be crystal clear: The story is not true.
