Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are NOT engaged, despite a new tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can reveal these “proposal” and “wedding” claims are actually a bait-and-switch.

The new cover of OK! exclaims, “Katy & Orlando: Wedding & Babies!” The issue further touts, “The $1.3 million ring and Malibu beach proposal.” It’s all designed to make readers think the couple is engaged, and may have actually already tied the knot.

But the story inside the magazine is pure speculation about the two possibly “getting married,” if and when Bloom proposes. It’s said, “Orlando is getting ready to pop the question,” and “as soon as he does, Katy will definitely say yes.” And the outlet further claims, “Orlando has already been shopping for rings and has his eye on a sparkler from famed jeweler Neil Lane, with a price tag said to be upward of $1 million.”

“And to propose,” continues the article, “Orly has a romantic spot in mind on a Malibu beach where the couple was caught snogging in March.” A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “It’s sweet that he wants to pick a place that’s been meaningful for them.” And though there’s no engagement, wedding planning is supposedly already underway, with the alleged tipster saying, “Katy wants something small and intimate,” with a party “perhaps on New Year’s Eve.”

Gossip Cop, however, knows OK! is hoping readers forget all about these claims by the time December 31 rolls around. The magazine merely wanted to create a cover that would dupe readers into thinking Bloom and Perry were engaged, and possibly even married. And in its actual story, the tabloid pretended to be in the know by using nicknames like “Orly.”

But look no further than the outlet’s last story on the couple for proof of its poor reporting. Earlier this month, OK! falsely claimed Perry had sent Bloom’s ex, Miranda Kerry, an engagement gift. That wasn’t true, and neither is this misleading tale.
