Katy Perry “Chained To The Rhythm” Grammys Video: Watch 2017 Grammy Awards Performance!
Katy Perry performed “Chained To The Rhythm” live for the first time at the 2017 Grammys on Sunday. Check out the video below!
Last Monday, Perry confirmed she’d be one of the performers at the 59th annual Grammy Awards. That was the first sign the pop star had new music on the way, as her last album, Prism, came out all the way back in 2013. Sure enough, Perry then began teasing “Chained To The Rhythm,” which was officially released on Friday.
The track, co-written by Sia, is the singer’s first single since “Rise,” which came out last summer as an anthem for NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics. “Rise” wasn’t tied to any album, and it remains to be seen if “Chained To The Rhythm” will be. But it’s widely believed the song is meant to kick off the next chapter in Perry’s career.
Surprisingly, though, that successful career hasn’t included any Grammy honors. Although Perry has performed on the awards show in years past, she hasn’t won any of the 13 times she’s been nominated. Most recently, she was shut out at the 2015 show, where Prism was up for Best Pop Vocal Album and “Dark Horse,” a collaboration with Juicy J, was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
But with new music could come more chances to finally score one of the coveted Recording Academy honors. For now, though, Perry will just have to settle for being one of the Grammys’ A-list performers. Watch below!
