Katy Perry did NOT ban her staff members from attending any of Taylor Swift’s 1989 concerts, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct this story. We’re told it’s “not true.”

According to OK!, Perry’s team feared they would get fired if they showed support for Swift, their boss’s alleged enemy. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Even employees and freelancers with little kids who wanted to see Taylor felt it would be considered a betrayal.” The tabloid’s supposed “insider” claims one employee was forced to have a friend “take their child to one of Taylor’s shows,” adding, “It was sad because this parent wasn’t able to be there for the kid’s first concert.”

But that’s not all. The tabloid alleges the ban goes even further than that. The magazine’s dubious “insider” claims Perry’s people are even forbidden from “listening to [Swift’s] music or saying her name.”

Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Perry, who assures us that the tabloid’s story is completely made-up. We’re told the supposed Swift “ban” is simply “not true.”

The inaccuracy of the tabloid’s report isn’t particularly surprising. OK! is the same magazine that had to apologize to Perry in March 2015 for falsely claiming the singer was pregnant with John Mayer’s baby. Of course, before the tabloid issued its retraction, Gossip Cop had already exclusively debunked the wholly untrue story.
