Katie May Suffers Stroke, Playboy Model Fighting For Her Life In Hospital
UPDATE: Sadly, Katie May died on Thursday night, after her family made the heartbreaking decision to take her off life support.
ORIGINAL STORY: Katie May, a model who has posed for Playboy, suffered a major stroke this week, and is now fighting for her life.
The blonde beauty, who is in her mid-30s and has a 7-year-old daughter, was recently feeling unwell with pain in her neck. On Monday, she had what her family is calling a “catastrophic” stroke due to a blockage in her carotid artery. She remains hospitalized in Los Angeles critical condition.
While May’s prognosis is unclear, a GoFundMe account has been set up to fundraise for her daughter’s care. A statement on the page reads, “Katie’s family plans on using any money raised to help pay for education, Mia’s daily life and to help her dad with the costs of parenting.” So far, $6,000 has come in in just two hours, and the goal is $100,000.
The fundraiser’s description says, “Anyone who was lucky enough to know Katie May was truly blessed by her incredible heart, mind and soul. She was an inspiration and a guiding light to so many people in this world. Please help us by donating money to support her daughter and best friend Mia. We want to raise as much money for Mia’s living trust as possible to ensure she will always be taken care of. Mia was Katie’s whole life, so please help Katie, Mia and us by donating money to Mia.”
Despite rumors, however, and an abundance of “RIP” comments on social media, May is not deceased. The model, who goes by the nickname “Queen of Snapchat,” last posted on Instagram just prior to her stroke on Monday. “Hope everyone is having a great Monday! It’s very windy here today in LA,” she wrote. Sadly, now May’s nearly 2 millon followers are praying for her recovery. Gossip Cop has reached out for more information. We will have updates.
