Katie Ledecky “Today” Show Video: Swimmer Celebrates Olympics Gold Medals
Katie Ledecky celebrated her Olympics gold medals on Monday’s “Today” show. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, the Olympian has been one of the breakout stars of the 2016 games in Rio. On Friday, Ledecky won gold in the 800-meter freestyle, during which she broke her own world record. It was Ledecky’s fourth gold, and she also won a silver medal at this year’s Olympics, too.
Ledecky wore all of those medals for her live interview on the morning show, where she told Hoda Kotb, “I had a ton of fun. I mean, I have my goals in the water, but one of those goals was also just to have fun. And I couldn’t have asked for a better time here with my teammates, seeing them succeed and the fun we had outside the water as well. It was just the best.”
“It’s fun to swim fast,” Ledecky went on to amusingly say. “I’m happy with how this whole week has gone.” Still, the athlete also acknowledged, “It’s never easy to break a world record. It takes a lot of hard work, every day getting in the pool, and giving it my all. It was my last race of the meet here, and I wanted to remember it really well.”
Ledecky’s interview also included a funny moment when she accidentally insulted her idol, Michael Phelps. Check out the full interview below!
