Katie Hopkins Calls Kelly Clarkson ‘Chunky Monkey’ On Access Hollywood (VIDEO)
Katie Hopkins, the widely-despised British journalist who recently insulted Kelly Clarkson over her weight, has launched a new attack on the singer, calling Clarkson a “chunky monkey” during an “Access Hollywood” interview. Watch the video below.
It all started during Clarkson’s recent appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” when Hopkins tweeted, “Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen.” Hopkins added, “Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves.”
Clarkson, who’s faced constant public scrutiny over her body since rocketing to fame on “American Idol” more than a decade ago, responded in an interview this week, pushing aside Hopkins’ disses. “She’s tweeted something nasty about me? That’s because she doesn’t know me. I’m awesome! It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will,” Clarkson was quoted as saying in response. The singer added, “I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more [a matter of] if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good.”
On “Access Hollywood,” Hopkins defended herself. “There is no such thing as fat-shaming,” she insisted. “There is only skinny-blaming.” Hopkins continued, “It doesn’t hurt me to hurt someone’s feelings… Ultimately Kelly Clarkson is a chunky monkey. We can call it baby weight. We can call it puppy fat. We can call it love handles. We can call it muffin top… but ultimately it’s fat. She’s fat.”
Hopkins explained that she feels free to criticize overweight people because they cost the British health care system a fortune every year. When co-host Billy Bush pointed out that Hopkins could speak out against obesity without bullying, quoting her tweets, Hopkins replied, “That’s not bullying! That’s a great line!” What do you think?
