Extinguishing Katie Holmes Smoking Claim

“Katie’s smokin’” says the National Enquirer about Katie Holmes and, no, they’re not talking about how good-looking she is.

Rather, the tab alleges Holmes has a smoking habit that’s left Tom Cruise none too pleased.

“Katie’s smoking increases when she works and when she’s stresses,” explains an unnamed source, who says Holmes feels “an enormous amount of pressure” to do well as Jackie O in “The Kennedys” miniseries.

The tab conveniently furnishes a picture of Holmes in character smoking a cigarette, claiming it has nothing to do with Kennedy having a habit of her own.

Adds the source, “Tom has a carefully planned timetable in mind for when Suri will get a little brother or sister. But with Katie smoking, another baby is definitely not in the cards.”

Let’s quit this nonsense right now.

While Holmes is indeed portraying a smoker in “The Kennedys,” life is not imitating art.

A rep for Cruise tells Gossip Cop it’s just “not true” that their relationship is up in flames over a smoking addiction.

Once again, the Enquirer is wrong – no ifs, ands or butts.

    Now Gossip Cop is denying claims of Katie smoking. I hope she doesn’t smoke, but the reality is that she has to stay slim to keep Tom and Hollywood happy, so cigarettes would not surprise me, and there were always rumors of Katie being bulimic during her Dawson’s days, so maybe cigarettes are her solution.

    As for the Tom having a PLAN on when Katie is getting pregnant?…HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! That’s funny!!!! Tom did not father Suri, and no-one believes HE can get Katie pregnant.     Katie Holmes is in fact a smoker. It’s no secret anywhere. She was a big smoker during Dawson’s Creek and was seen out and about at bars everywhere around town smoking. She smoked on set. She had a cigarette in hand on many occasion I witnessed.

    At the SAG awards last year when she presented best actor to Sean Penn it was was widely reported in many publications that she was later on spotted enjoying a smoking break outside with Penn and Josh Brolin. Loads of witnesses. None with any reason to lie.

    So that means she’s been smoking for over ten years. (Has no one noticed her teeth?) Don’t know if it’s an issue with Cruise but to imply that she is only “playing” a smoker in a movie and that “life is not imitating art” sounds like some truly erroneous reporting to me.

    Funny. I’d think a site calling itself “Gossip Cop” would think to check some real facts before taking a the celebrity-employed PR person’s paid word for it. Kind of discredits your whole reason for being a website if you ask me.

    Don’t believe the story about Tom being “furious” etc. But Katie has been photographed smoking for many years (even before she met Tom).
