CLAIM: Katie Holmes and Chris Klein Might Rekindle Romance

Star magazine, which falsely reported that Katie Holmes was pregnant this spring, continues its less than stellar coverage of the actress in a new cover story about her divorce from Tom Cruise.

The tabloid claims Holmes has been back in touch with her ex-fiancé Chris Klein and suggests that the two could reunite romantically.

“Katie contacted him a few months ago after a while of not speaking,” says a so-called “source” close to Holmes. “It was very casual, but it was more aggressive than in the past, since she was closer to divorce and didn’t care what Tom thought anymore.”

Ah, yes, contact that was both “casual” and “aggressive.”

The “friend” says, “Chris has always been so sweet to Katie and supportive. He is eager to meet up in person when Katie is ready.”

For her part, adds the tab’s source, “Katie always wonders what would have happened if she and Chris never broke up. She’s so happy they’re in touch.”

The magazine asserts, “Now that Katie’s free, no one would be surprise if she and Chris got back together once the dust settles.”

Star’s source explains, “They’re both Christians with small-town values and great friendships with their family. And in a way, both of them have now exorcised their demons, Katie with Tom and Chris with alcohol.”

Oh, we see.

Holmes’ marriage was allegedly equivalent to alcoholism, and that means she might run off with Klein, even though the two still haven’t even reunited in person?

This is ridiculous.

They are not rekindling their romance.

A source close to Holmes tells Gossip Cop the Star story is “not true.”

    It is not unusual after a break up to contact an ex. But that does not mean that they are going to get back together. After my last break up I contacted an ex and we hooked up. But during it I realized she was horrible and we have not spoken since.

    It’s not unusual to just stay single and think things through for a while. She might not want a man as a lover, but just a friend. I think that it is very unwise for any man/woman to jump right into another relationship after just leaving one.

    Katie Holmes never cared for Tom. Her eyes were always empty or she had this blank look about her when she was with him. Must have been tough to stay the whole five years, but money is a great incentive. She should never have gotten full custody of Suri.
