How is she mean & heartless? Because she doesn’t want her daughter to grow up in a Scientology environment? I applaud her for doing what she needs to do. Tom Cruise has showed his colors many times, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
I hope she gets sole custody of Suri & stays far away from that ‘church’ so she could raise her daughter the way she feels is best.

I have to wonder how she could stealth rent an apartment without Tom finding out, especially if she has been followed. Also, how she could get her legal ducks in a row without his knowledge – how did she hide calls and visits to lawyers, etc. Even if her father was doing all the legwork behind the scenes for her, I’m surprised that there wasn’t a leak somewhere, somehow. It wouldn’t be out of the question to think she was under surveillance in her own home and her calls monitored. Doesn’t she have COS escorts assigned to her as well?

I’m not 100% convinced that Tom was blindsided by the divorce filing. But somehow it appears that she does have a hand to play.

She was married to Tom Cruise for several years. She knew from the beginning he was a practicing member of Scientology. I am no enthusiast , believer in the scientology cult. I suppose , maybe she was hoping she could change him. Not presuming she thought this.

I think it is more likely that the objectives Scientology has for people became much more defined over the years she was married. If I heard the opening pitch of what Scientology could do for you and your life, I would be tempted to think it might help me become a much more effective person. But as you delve into the steps of Scientology, it gets worse and worse and muddier and muddier. The indoctrination is slow but once they get you, they’ve got you. If you were raised a Catholic as Katie was, I would think the teachings start to become anathema to the Christian religion. Read the article in the New Yorker magazine from 2011 if you want to read an excellent article on what Scientology is and isn’t. It sure opened my eyes.

Scientologist sound really insidious. It seems like, if understand you correctly they start out rather slow , ie baby steps, step by steop and then before one knows it one is hooked into believing their beliefs. I think it might be helpful if you can tell what month the New Yorker 2011 piece on Scientology was published. Sounds quite informative.

I won’t start name calling but does anyone else remember there are two other children, her stepchildren, whom she said she loves. Well loving someone is not taking off sneaky. Her father is suppose to be a lawyer, she had nothing to fear. Her life was not in danger. I am for Tom she did not consider Connor or his sister. Tom is entitle to his religion one she said had good areas. Now if you do not like his religion or whatever it may be then tell Daddy to handle it so all the children need not go thru more stress than they have too. No Katie was thinking of only herself and when Suri grows up she will not like the way her mother handled it. She was torn from her dad, step brother and sister. She should of at least have Suri be there for Dads birthday. What was the rush again her father is a lawyer. I am on team Tom.

If Tom Cruise feels that the scientology religion helped him, then its good for him to practice it. I dont think he has ever harmed anyone or treated anyone as shabbily as katie treated him so whats the big deal about knocking this religion. Apparently and according to an interview katie gave some time ago, anyone (jew, christian, etc) can practice it.

I feel the same way, Katie is acting like a angel but there is a devil inside of her to have done this to Tom, and again we need to remember there are two step children. None of us know the reason, I bet Scientology has nothing to do with it, but no matter what she had what many of us do not, a father who is a lawyer. Apparently he did not give her the best legal advice. This will not let her look good in the long run. All 3 children will be effected. Suri, doesn’t even know what happen, but one day she will. Not a good move Katie. If you wanted out there was a better way of doing it. Funny how well you have improved on your acting skills to get away with act 1.

I am for Tom for one reason only, she did not consider the other two children. She was not in danger and she had a father who was a lawyer. I still do not support her way of doing it, I am not against her decision, only they will know the reaon and that is personal. I am against her way of leaving her stepchildren too. I am not a mind reader but here is what I think, she at one time was contented being Tom Cruise wife, but when you are married to a high profile as he is, you get offers, you would not have gotten if you were not married to him. He wanted a homebody but the thrill excited Katie and she wanted to accept these offers while he wanted a wife and mother she wanted it all. Just my opinion, I do not believe it had anything to do with Scientology she wanted to work and that is what I am assuming. No one knows or needs to it is there business again I still think she could of handled it better. I read she was afraid that Suri would end up like Coonor and his sister. Then she knew that before she married Tom, she is being selfish and I do not believe or one minute that Tom would hurt Suri.

I do think there were other factors that resulted in it, like what you said what he wanted. He doesn’t want someone who’s bigger than him & wanted her to just be a mother/wife, but like Nicole(sorry had to bring her up) she was tired as being known as Tom Cruise’s wife. I do believe that Scientology has a lot to do with her leaving. Like you just stated, she didn’t want Suri to end up in their schools the way Connor and Bella are & wanted her to be in a normal environment. I never said Tom would hurt Suri, but I do believe that he would put her in one of those schools without thinking about it. Scientology is something big & Katie is up for a big fight for her daughter. This plays a much bigger role in his life than you think. Though we don’t know the exact steps she took before she even left, but I do congratulate her for finally standing up for herself.
