“Katie Holmes and Jeremy Strong: New Couple Alert?” reads a headline from Showbiz Spy, which claims Holmes’ fellow Romantics actor may be her “new boyfriend.”

The site notes that Tom Cruise’s ex-wife “hit a daytime Broadway show with her former costar Jeremy Strong over the weekend.”

So… where’s the evidence that this was anything more than two friends hanging out?

Well, for starters, the blog says Holmes was wearing a “flirty” skirt.

Ooh!

And there’s more.

After seeing the play “If You Haven’t Found It Yet,” Showbiz Spy says they “walked around in circles in her neighborhood before sneaking in the back garage entrance of her building to avoid being photographed.”

A celebrity who just went through a high profile divorce not wanting to be photographed?

There simply must be something romantic going on here!

Or…

Holmes, who’s gearing up to appear in a Broadway production this fall, was simply taking in a play with a fellow stage actor pal.

We’re going to go with the latter.

In any case, a source close to Holmes assures Gossip Cop she and Strong are just friends.
