Katie Holmes “Attacked” By Kennedys For Reprising Role As Jackie O?
Katie Holmes is NOT being “attacked” by the Kennedy family, despite a new tabloid story, for reprising her role as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the upcoming miniseries “The Kennedys — After Camelot.” Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this rumor, which was started by an In Touch article that claims the actress reached out to Jackie O’s daughter Caroline Kennedy with “disastrous” results.
Holmes, who played the former first lady in the 2011 miniseries “The Kennedys,” has been cast again for the ReelzChannel’s new four-hour sequel, but according to the tabloid, Caroline and her cousin Maria Shriver are “furious.” A so-called “insider” tells the outlet that they “see Katie’s involvement as a personal attack on them and their family.”
In Touch claims that Holmes wrote Caroline letters seeking her “cooperation,” but John F. Kennedy’s daughter tossed them without responding because she “hated” Holmes’ performance in the last miniseries. The “source” also adds that Caroline asked Shriver to use her “Hollywood connections” to stop the project.
The story goes on to allege that Holmes is making “powerful enemies” and risking her career. Uh, huh. This is the second time the actress is starring in a miniseries about the Kennedys, and Gossip Cop has learned the family didn’t go after her before and they’re not going after her now. Of course, In Touch is the same outlet that also falsely claimed Holmes was dating Jamie Foxx. Regardless, a Holmes’ rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop that this story is “not true.”
