Kathy Griffin will reportedly replace the late Joan Rivers on “Fashion Police.” The move has been rumored for weeks, and TMZ now says it’s basically a done deal, although neither Griffin nor E! has confirmed it. Gossip Cop will have updates.

The comedian would join Melissa Rivers, Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic on the new version of the show. It’s believed that “Fashion Police” will no longer be a weekly show, but rather “event programming” tied to awards shows and other big red carpet moments.

Earlier this month, Griffin confirmed that E! had offered her the job. At the time, she said, “They did offer it to me. I don’t know if the situation is correct at this time for me.” Griffin added, “Whatever they do, I really hope that they continue in the spirit of Joan’s work… She brought a fearlessness and a brand of humor into our homes that we really need.”

As Gossip Cop previously reported, the network announced in September that it would continue “Fashion Police” with Melissa Rivers’ blessing, because Joan “would have wanted” it to go on. Griffin was furious about a rumor that claimed she was “gunning” for the gig while Joan was still hospitalized and in a coma following the medical emergency that ultimately killed her. Do you think Griffin will do a good job as Rivers’ replacement?
