Kathy Griffin: I Was Offered Joan Rivers’ Fashion Police Job — WATCH VIDEO!
Kathy Griffin confirms that E! has offered her the job of hosting “Fashion Police,” following Joan Rivers’ death in September. “They did offer it to me,” says Griffin, noting, “I don’t know if the situation is correct at this time for me.” She adds, “Whatever they do, I really hope that they continue in the spirit of Joan’s work… She brought a fearlessness and a brand of humor into our homes that we really need.”
As Gossip Cop previously reported, E! announced in late September that they would continue “Fashion Police” with Melissa Rivers’ blessing because it was what Joan “would have wanted.” Griffin later took to Twitter to slam speculation that she was in “seriously contention” to replace the show’s former host, writing, “Just 2 clarify. I have not contacted E! & they have not contacted me.” At the time, Griffin was furious about rumors that she was gunning for the “Fashion Police” job while Rivers was in a coma. “It’s not true… I thought I’d heard it all, but that [rumor] hurts because it’s as far from the truth as you can get,” Griffin had said, adding, “I would never take Joan’s job.”
If Griffin changes her mind and accepts the “Fashion Police” offer, she will be joining the show’s current co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, and George Kotsiopoulos. Do you think Griffin should take the job? Note: Video no longer available.
