Kathy Griffin Was Going To Be Fired From Fashion Police Before Quitting, Allegedly Clashed With Brad Goreski: Report
Kathy Griffin was reportedly on the verge of being fired from “Fashion Police” when she surprised fans by quitting the show on Thursday, leaving after only seven episodes. A new “Extra” report alleges that hours before Griffin announced her departure on social media, E! executives met to discuss “terminating” her.
According to the outlet, behind-the-scenes issues allegedly included tension between Griffin and new co-host Brad Goreski. “Extra” says Griffin felt Goreski was “upstaging her” with his own jokes and wanted E! executives to restrict his humor, but they refused. The report also says Griffin wanted to name Quvenzhane Wallis “worst dressed” at the Golden Globes, but E! stepped in and stopped her.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Griffin’s own version of events is a little bit different. She says she could no longer justify using her comedy “to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference,” explaining that she’d discovered “my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show.”
Gossip Cop has reached out to both Griffin’s rep and E! for comment about the latest rumor. We will have updates. Regardless of what led to her exit, are you sad to see Griffin leave “Fashion Police”?
