Kathy Griffin is shooting down a new report that claims she’s in “serious contention” to replace Joan Rivers on “Fashion Police.”

As Gossip Cop reported, it was recently announced that the E! series will continue on in the wake of Rivers’ death, returning to the airwaves in January.

The Hollywood Reporter claimed on Wednesday that a “shortlist of replacements has been drawn up, with female and male comedians in the mix,” and that “one name in serious contention is Kathy Griffin.”

While the outlet notes that “no formal conversations have been held with anyone,” Griffin took to Twitter to distance herself from the report even further.

She tweeted on Wednesday night, “Just 2 clarify. I have not contacted E! & they have not contacted me.”

Just who will get the position — whether it be Griffin or someone else — remains to be seen.

The speculation, however, comes nearly two weeks after the comedienne slammed what she called a “disgusting” rumor that alleged she was gunning for the job while Rivers lay in a coma.

“It’s not true… I thought I’d heard it all, but that [rumor] hurts because it’s as far from the truth as you can get,” Griffin said at the time, adding, “I would never take Joan’s job.”
