Katherine Jenkins Suffers Back Injury During DWTS, Needs “Medical Attention”

Katherine Jenkins appeared to suffer quite the injury during “Dancing with the Stars” on Monday.

Towards the end of her salsa routine with partner Mark Ballas, the opera singer suddenly stumbled.

She later explained that her “back went out,” and appeared visibly distressed when she returned to the stage at the end of the broadcast.

Host Tom Bergeron said she was going to get “medical attention” as soon as the show went off the air.

Afterward, Ballas apologized via Twitter that they were unable to finish their dance.

“sry guys we couldn’t finish R dance. Katherine hurt her back, I tried my best not let her fall at the end,” he wrote, adding that he hoped fans would still vote them into next week’s finale.

Jenkins later took to Twitter herself, revealing that the doctor said she had “a reflectorical spasm in my lower back.”

“Thank you all for your concerned tweets,” she added.

None of the judges seemed to understand that she was in pain, even after she stated that she was in pain. Anyone who has put their back out would understand how painful it is to even walk afterwards, a little more attention could have been payed to her.

She is my absolute favorite. I wanted her to get the perfect 10. I feel so bad for her. I hope she’s safe.

I really think William is going to win. I like him but I really like Katherine and think she’s the best.

I have watched that part of the dance back several times and it looks like Mark trips over her or bumps her while she is leaning back. That might explain why he was so panicked with saying “I got you” over and over. Hope it doesn’t keep people from voting for her.

Katherine is my favorite — and tonight, for the first time, I actually voted (never felt she needed my help). It would too sad if she didn’t make it into the semi-finals.

@jdb – omg, I did the same. I voted for her tonight too for the first time, didn’t think she needed it before.

She’s my fav and the best in my opinion. If she’s eliminated I don’t think i would have much interest to continue to watch, even though I also like William and Donald.

I really hope Katnerine and Mark don’t get eliminated. She dosen’t deserve it. She’s been so amazing all season and it would be crazy for her to go home because of that mistake. I hope she’s okay. She looked like she was in pain. Vote for Katherine!

Nothing against Katherine, because I think she’s fabulous, but there are more injuries on this show, pound for pound, than in an entire NFL season! What! It often strikes me as a sympathy bid. Not saying that is the case w/ Katherine, but some of them… Good grief!

  • A concerned DWTS watcher

I agree with Becky, it seems that Mark’s foot hit her side as he was moved his leg over her… I believe that’s why she got off balance.

    Did anyone else see that??

  • A concerned DWTS watcher

Mark definitely tripped over her and made her off balance.
