Katherine and T.J. Jackson Agree to Share Custody of Michael’s Kids

The custody battle surrounding Michael Jackson’s kids appears to be over — for now.

On Friday, it was announced Katherine Jackson agreed to share custody of Paris, Prince and Blanket with her grandson, T.J. Jackson.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, T.J. (the son of Tito Jackson) was made the children’s temporary guardian on Wednesday, after Katherine traveled to Arizona and had no contact with her grandchildren for more than a week.

Although Katherine later claimed she was just on a “short vacation,” and said the custody change was “based on lies,” it seems she has now had a change of heart.

In a statement, Katherine’s attorney, Perry Sanders, said the family matriarch changed her mind after Paris and her siblings said they wanted T.J. to remain their guardian, and added that she’s “extremely pleased” to now have more free time.

“Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael’s children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high-profile family and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael’s children,” he wrote.

Sanders added, “She is eager to simply enjoy her great relationship with these children, while deeding over some of the stressors that go hand in hand with being a guardian.”

Both parties are expected to go to court next week to make the agreement official.

    I don’t understand how she could have left (unaccounced) 3 minors alone, unsupervised, with no contact for a week and then be granted partial custody over them again.

    KJ had no choice but to agree to the kids demand that TJ be a co-guardian after the fiasco. The Judge was never going to allow her to be the sole guardian anyway. This “statement” by her lawyer is a face saving gesture—remember, KJ gets an allowance from the estate ABOVE the allowance for the kids care. One hopes that money is going for the care of the kids only–and not to her other children (you know who they are). The losers in this mayhem: KJ, Randy, Jermaine and most of all Janet. The big winners are MJ kid’s, who have demonstrated they’re not going to let the crazy Jacksons run them over.

    It’s great that they are doing join custody. Obviously KJ is a senior she did the whole ‘raise teenagers’ part of her life and from what GC said it’s a lot more to manage then just getting them on the bus in the morning. I read an article about TJJ and he seems grounded so hopefully he will protect these kids from the rest of the family.

    Some posters mention how the kids”look” like MJ…etc. let’s set it straight…these 3 kids are his ADOPTED kids, not his BIOLOGICAL kids. I highly doubt a DNA test would show they have any afro-american blood no matter how light he bleached his skin or had plastic surery. Yes, they are “technically” MJ kids. Just to set the record straight.
