Katherine Jackson: I Was Kept From Contacting Grandkids While in Arizona

Katherine Jackson, who told ABC News a little more than a week ago that she went to Arizona for a “short vacation,” and that she didn’t contact her grandchildren Prince, Paris and Blanket because “I didn’t want to have any phone calls while I was here,” told the court a very different story in documents made public on Thursday in connection with her bid to be co-guardian of Michael’s kids with T.J. Jackson.

According to court papers, the Jackson matriarch said that while she was at a Tucson spa, she was completely unaware that she had been reported missing, because her cell phone and iPad were taken, and the room she was in didn’t having a working phone or TV.

Jackson also said she inquired about her grandkids, and was told “they were fine.”

The judge, who said he felt “the kids are in terrific hands” with their grandma, gave Katherine and T.J. co-guardianship, and is allowing them both to make decisions about the children’s upbringing and welfare.

    I really hope these kids stay far away from their aunts and uncles when they get older. If they have no problem doing this to thier own mother, imagine what they’d do to them.

    Just seems a bit odd that she would not question having all forms of communication removed? I have stayed at some places that don’t have TV, but no one has ever taken away my phone and not have access to other phones. What if she had an emergency? She says she wasn’t kidnapped, but she was being held “incommunicado”, which is very close. There is something seriously wrong with this family.

    Katherine is 82 years old. Her children probably saw that she needed some rest because she looked highly stressed and tired on Oprah. No harm was done to those children. Paris is 14 going on 21, so I am sure that she took care of everything. Those kids aunts and uncles are probably the best people out there for them to be with and around. Blood is always thicker than water. Paris will one day look over all this, laugh and apologize to her family. She has to learn that people outside of family that’s giving all the advice she is getting, will never substitute for family. They all loved Michael and I am sure that they love his children too. I think that things were over-hyped just as the media usually does.

    I disagree with the part about no harm done. No physical harm was done, but, these kids just lost their father very suddenly and unexpectedly three years ago without having a chance to say goodbye. Then, if some of the stories out there are true, grandma takes off without anyone telling the kids where she is, that’s like bringing their father’s death right back up again. Yes, Paris was wrong in tweeting everything, but if this was her way of coping, then so be it.

    Poor thing all she has gone threw at her age then to have too deal with mouthy teenagers who think they know it all.

    You’re joking, right? Those people leeched off Michael when he was alive to the point he cut off contact with them for months at a time. He left the guardianship of his children to his mother – exclusively – not to Joe or his siblings because he didn’t want any of them to get their mitts on the kids OR the kids’ inheritance. I hope poor Katherine lives long enough to see the kids reach legal age and able to manage their own affairs.

    Tito, Randy, Janet, LaToya have systematically run through whatever money they had or Michael gave them and still try to maintain ridiculously opulent lifestyles. They need another infusion of cash by now and Michael’s estate executors won’t give it to them. Nor should they.

    That video of Janet slapping Paris and the tussle that followed says it all about how those kids feel about that side of the family, particularly Janet, Tito and Randy. They had no business barging into that house, ordering those kids and the staff around like it was THEIR house. Paris was right to tell her off.

    She was the kids legal guardian, how on earth did the kids not know where she was? Who was looking after the kids while she was in Arizona & the kids thought she was missing?

    But they didn’t enable him as a drug user or change his will. They tried constantly to get him to go into rehab. Michael shut himself off from his own family. Maybe they did want money, but did not want to hurt or see him go to jail. They did not have their children accuse him of sex acts to get money. They did not pre-judge him or ostrasize him. They did not shut him out or joke about him. So, what were you saying about his family?

    And this time the brothers and sisters tried to have the will declared null and void even thought the courts accepted it as real. They need money and won’t get unless they can take over guardianship of Michael’s children. I wouldn’t trust any of them as far as I could throw them. And they most definitely leeched off Michael when he was alive. The courts have to be tough and keep guardianship where it is. Now that T,J, is a co-guardian, there should be no question about who will take over if Katherine passes on. What a family! No wonder Michael was so messed up. Thank God his talent remained and gave his life some pleasure, just as his children did.

    You are calling the teenagers mouthy…..what about the aunts and uncles? If the kids are mouthy, it is because they have had to defend themselves against these greedy people. So “poor” Katherine must have been exhausted with half her kids bullying her. Get real.
