Katherine Heigl: “I Don’t See Myself As Difficult”
Katherine Heigl was forced to address reports that she and her mother/manager, Nancy Heigl, are “difficult to work with.”
The actress was at the Television Critics Association press tour on Sunday to promote her new NBC show “State Affairs,” when a reporter asked her to explain why the criticism exists.
“I can only say that I certainly don’t see myself as being difficult,” Heigl said. “I would never intend to be difficult.”
She continued, “I don’t think my mother sees herself as being difficult. I think it’s important to everybody to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully and kindly.”
Heigl joked that her mother, who is also an executive producer of her new NBC show, “bakes us cookies.”
“If I have ever disappointed somebody, it was not intentional,” she added.
Although Heigl maintained that she never intended to be difficult on set, “Orange is the New Black” star Jason Biggs took to Twitter on Sunday to slam her.
“It’s pretty simple: if you have to answer questions at a press conference about being difficult on sets, then you were difficult on sets,” he wrote.
What do you think of Heigl’s comments?
