Katharine McPhee covers Christina Aguilera‘s “Beautiful” in the first full-length promo for “Smash,” NBC’s new musical drama about the staging of a Broadway show.

The series also stars Debra Messing and Anjelica Huston.

In the new trailer, we see McPhee’s character journeying to New York, auditioning, rehearsing, and – no surprise – overcoming obstacles to make her dreams come true.
