Kate Middleton & Queen Elizabeth NOT Fighting, Despite Report
Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth do NOT have a “touchy” relationship, despite a new tabloid story trying to revive that old rumor. Gossip Cop can bust the report, which comes from OK!, the same outlet that claimed Middleton was pregnant with twins more than eight months ago. How’s that prediction going?
In this new cover story, which styles itself as an interview with Middleton but has zero exclusive direct quotes from the Duchess, OK! argues that Middleton and the Queen are at odds. The magazine says Middleton and Prince William moved to the country home Anmer Hall over the Queen’s objections. “There’s been some tension,” a source explains to the tabloid, which claims the Queen wanted the family to stay at Kensington Palace. “Kate stood her ground. She said, ‘I’m more comfortable at Anmer, and it’s a more relaxing place for us to raise George.'”
As Gossip Cop has already reported, Queen Elizabeth gave the couple the Anmer Hall estate. It was a gift. She wants them to be there. It is NOT a source of tension, despite what OK! and its ilk keep insisting.
The tabloid also says there’s a fight between the royals over Middleton’s desire to host a Christmas Eve party for family and friends. According to OK!, Middleton is bristling at her public obligations around the holidays and allegedly told friends, “I’m not bending over backward for the Queen. I’ll host a party whenever I want.” Gossip Cop has learned this supposed pre-Christmas tension is also made-up. A source close to the situation tells us, “Tabloid allegations about the family continue to be false.”
