Kate Middleton, Prince William Families Feuding?
Are Kate Middleton and Prince William’s families feuding? A report from one of the tabloids claims the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are caught up in a new “family war.” Gossip Cop looked into the story.
The allegations can be found in the new issue of Life & Style, which announces, “Kate Middleton’s mom and Prince William’s dad go head-to-head in a bizarre battle over their grandchildren.” According to the accompanying article, “Though the royals seem to have a fairy-tale life, behind the scenes a war has broken out between the Middleton family and William’s parents.” It’s further said, “With hurt feelings on both sides, an estrangement is growing — and Kate is caught in the middle.”
So, what’s going on? “The fighting is over George and Charlotte,” writes the magazine. “Kate’s mom, Carole Middleton, has bonded intensely with her grandchildren, and it’s left William’s dad, Prince Charles, feeling jealous.” A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying he and wife Camilla Parker Bowles “feel excluded from Charlotte and George’s lives. Prince Charles is furious about it.”
In fact, it’s claimed the second-in-line to throne feels “betrayed” since he “welcomed the Middleton family into their lives.” The tabloid goes on to allege Prince Charles is “quietly getting revenge” by “excluding” his son’s in-laws from various events. And while it’s said “Carole isn’t about to beg for forgiveness,” now Kate and William are supposedly involved.
“William hates drama so he asked Kate to speak to her mother,” the alleged tipster claims. “Everyone hopes they can put this rift behind them for the sake of the kids… The last thing [Kate] wants is for the war to escalate.” Well, no one needs to worry.
There is no “rift” going on. The Middletons have their life, and the royals have theirs. Sometimes they intersect, sometimes they don’t. But both sets of grandparents have rich presences in George and Charlotte’s lives.
Gossip Cop wouldn’t expect Life & Style to know this since this is the same tabloid that falsely claimed last month that Middleton was pregnant and due on Christmas. That was after an April story wrongly announcing she was expecting twins. The magazine is not the outlet to get royal news. And this “family war” report has no merit to it.
