Kate Middleton Cancels First Solo Tour To Malta Due To Extreme Morning Sickness
Kate Middleton will not be traveling to Malta for her first solo royal tour, due to her extreme morning sickness, Kensington Palace has confirmed.
Middleton, who announced last week that she is pregnant with her second child, was advised by her doctors to cancel her trip to Malta on Saturday, where she was to appear on behalf of the Royal Family.
Instead, Prince William will be filling in for his wife during the two-day visit, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of Malta’s independence.
According to the palace’s official statement, the Duchess of Cambridge “continues to suffer from the effects of Hyperemesis Gravidarum,” adding, “The Duke is honored to represent Her Majesty The Queen on the visit.”
