Karina Smirnoff Tries To Save Man Having A “Stroke,” But Discovers He’s Just Drunk
Karina Smirnoff tried to save a man having what appeared to be a stroke on Wednesday, but quickly discovered he wasn’t actually ill and was drunk instead. And the former “Dancing With the Stars” pro hilariously documented the ordeal on Instagram. See her photo below.
Smirnoff wrote that she was grabbing a bite to eat and reading a book at Umami Burger in Los Angeles when she saw a man having what she thought was a stroke. The ballroom dancer said she right away sprang into action and Googled what she should do to save the stranger. She also alerted the restaurant staff and asked them to call 911.
“I immediately started following the guidelines, and one of the symptoms was ‘someone who is having a stroke might appear extremely intoxicated and drunk,'” wrote Smirnoff, adding, “I grabbed his hand and asked him to squeeze it, and told him to stay with me and asked his name to make sure he stayed conscious. As the paramedics arrived he lost consciousness.”
Smirnoff said the man was thoroughly examined by the paramedics, and they determined he was not having a stroke. “My diagnosis was wrong and he was after all just a drunk man who appeared to be having a stroke,” wrote Snirnoff.” She also said the man’s hands were mysteriously covered in blood, so after the paramedics tended to the guy they then “had to attend to my hands.” Check out her photo below, and tell us what you think of Smirnoff’s crazy story.
