Kanye West wrapped holiday presents for foster kids at a charity event today, and it wasn’t even planned.

The controversial star unexpectedly walked into the New Yorkers for Children‘s “Wrap to Rap” benefit at The Ainsworth in New York and asked to lend a hand.

Selita Ebanks, West’s co-star in his short film Runaways, also helped out with the gifts.

The two were part of the charity organization’s Fall Gala back in September.

West has taken a lot of heat for his sometimes questionable behavior, but we have to give him credit for doing a pretty cool thing today.
