As Taylor Swift was making her acceptance speech for winning the Best Female Video at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West took the microphone from her and said, “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you . . . but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” leaving Swift speechless and the audience stunned.

    I missed the VMAs this year, but when I read this I was completely shocked!! I feel awful for Taylor, no one who works so hard deserves someone to steal their earned spotlight!!

    Gossip Cop, I was a little surprised Beyonce smiled through the whole thing. I felt that was very uncool. She could have at least shook her no when he was talking but she didn’t. I’m very disappointed in her.

    How was he allowed to get on stage while a winner was accepting an award? Nothing like a jerky moment to ruin a career, or at least throw a wrench in the works. No one will trust him now for a very long time if ever. And imagine the jokes that are going to go around about this, not on Taylor’s part, but his. Someone mentioned Beyonce smiling, actually I think she couldn’t believe it was happening and felt helpless to do anything.
