Kanye West Throws Mic, Storms Off Stage At Pan Am Games Closing Ceremony — WATCH VIDEO HERE
Kanye West stormed off stage at the Pan American Games closing ceremony in Toronto on Sunday, after his microphone stopped working while he was singing “Good Life.” Watch the videos below.
In the clip, West is seen performing the 2007 hit song at the Rogers Centre in the final minutes of his set, but unfortunately no one in the audience could hear him. West, who looked pretty annoyed with the situation, suddenly tossed his mic in the air and walked off stage. Shortly after, officials tweeted that it was a “technical error” with the microphone that caused the issue, and it apparently didn’t affect the sound for viewers watching at home.
Even though the end of the rapper’s 10-minute performance didn’t go quite as planned, West still put on a good show for the crowd. He kicked off his performance by singing “Stronger,” before addressing all the athletes who had competed in the different competitions. “Everybody tonight, we’re celebrating y’all tonight,” said the rapper, before launching into “Power” and then “Black Skinhead.”
West also performed a number of other hit songs including “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Gold Digger,” “Touch The Sky” and “All Of The Lights.” Other performers for the evening included Pitbull and Serena Ryder. As Gossip Cop previously reported, a petition launched earlier this month attempted to get West removed as the ceremony’s headliner, with people upset because he wasn’t Canadian. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and the performance was capped off with a bit of drama.
