Kanye West Stops Hollywood Bowl “808s & Heartbreak” Concert Over Technical Difficulties — WATCH VIDEO
Kanye West’s highly-anticipated Hollywood Bowl concert on Friday did NOT go off without a hitch. Watch below.
West booked back-to-back shows at the historic venue to perform his 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak in its entirety on both nights. Like most of the rapper’s concerts, West produced a visual spectacle with surprise guests and a star-studded crowd. Unfortunately, his apparent lack of preparation showed during the second half of the evening.
West seemed to struggle with his music timing as the show went on, and he even ordered the audio to be cut at one point. According to TMZ, West was so late for Thursday’s scheduled rehearsal, he was prohibited from doing a run-through due to sound ordinances. He indicated his technical difficulties stemmed from that when he self-deprecatingly told the crowd, “This is the best dress rehearsal I’ve ever had.”
No matter, wife Kim Kardashian seemed as proud as ever, sharing a number of stage and backstage photos (see above). She was joined by sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as Kendall Jenner. Among the celebrity guests to take the stage with West were Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Kid Cudi, and Zoe Kravitz. There was also a moving tribute to the star’s late mother, Donda.
West has had some in-concert struggles in the past, but here’s hoping Saturday night’s 808s & Heartbreak show has a little less heartbreak. Check out the video below of West asking for his track to be stopped mid-performance, and tell us what you think.
