Kanye West to perform and now be a guest on Tonight’s Jay Leno Show

Despite Kanye West’s rude interruption of Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, an NBC spokesperson confirmed last night that Kanye “is scheduled to” still appear this evening on the premiere of “The Jay Leno Show.” Kanye is slated to perform “Run This Town” with Jay-Z and Rihanna.

Originally a spokesperson told Gossip Cop that West was “just scheduled to perform,” but now Gossip Cop hears he’s also going to have the opportunity to sit down with Leno, and try to explain his bad behavior. Pretty safe we’ll hear another public apology.

It will be interesting to see what type of reception Kanye receives.

    Are you kidding? Everyone is OVERREACTING. IF it was true, it was rude. But seriously, MTV has a history of staging really poor “skits.” And this REEKS of MTV skit writing. I am eagerly awaiting Kanye saying “it was all scripted.” If he doesn’t, then he really is a d-bag.

    I just posted a comment on the Leno website letting them know I will not be watching the show tonight. I am not alone because there are a lot of other people who have posted similar comments. If Jay has Jackass West on tonight then he’d better have Taylor Swift on tomorrow night or I’m boycotting the show forever. SHAME ON JAY!!!! Katherine242: you’re nuttier than squirrel poo.

    I watched the show tonight to see what Kanye would actually say.. I honestly don’t feel one ounce sorry for him. He deserves the reaction he is getting from Taylor’s fans and other celebrities as well.. Kanye calls himself a “professional,” but really he is far from that. Taylor Swift is a VERY talented young actress and deserves EVERYTHING that she gets… Beyonce is very classy and what she did lastnight for Taylor was truly a great ending to the show!!

    Kanye was scheduled to be on Leno with Jay-Z and Rihanna for weeks. Boycotting Leno for something Kanye did is ridiculous. It would have been impossible for Leno to replace them the day of his show and it was Jay-Z’s performance. People are acting as bad as Kanye did.
