Kanye West Performs “High Lights” On ‘SNL’ – WATCH VIDEO
Kanye West performed “High Lights” on this week’s “SNL.” The song is off his new, upcoming album The Life Of Pablo. See the video below of Kanye West’s performance of “High Lights” on “Saturday Night Live.”
This is the sixth time West has been the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.” The first time was in 2005, with guest host Steve Carell. He came back in 2007 when LeBron James hosted, and was the musical guest again the following year when Hugh Laurie fronted the sketch comedy show. West returned in 2010 and 2013, and also performed during the “SNL 40” anniversary primetime special in 2015.
On Thursday, West played “High Lights,” along with the entire album, The Life Of Pablo, during his “Yeezy Season 3” fashion show at Madison Square Garden in New York. Virtually all of West’s extended family came East for the fashion show and listening party. Kim Kardashian was naturally there with their daughter North, as well Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, and Khloe Kardashian with Lamar Odom, who made his first public appearance since being found near death in a Nevada brothel last October.
In the song “High Lights,” West dredges up Ray J’s history with Kim Kardashian, as well Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s new romance. One of the rapper’s lyrics is “Me and Ray J would be friends if we ain’t love the same bitch. Yeah, he hit it first, but the only difference is I’m rich.” West later sings, “Blac Chyna f***ing Rob to help him with the weight.”
