Jonathan Ross: Supposed Kanye West Meltdown On My Show Is Media “Bullsh*t”
Kanye West appears to be the victim of media sensationalism regarding his appearance on “The Jonathan Ross Show,” a popular British talk program. The rapper recently taped a performance of his new song “Only One” for the show, which airs on Saturdays on ITV. A number of outlets reported that West was combative and uncooperative with Ross, allegedly refusing to talk to the host and “storming off stage.” Except Ross says that meltdown never happened.
Asked by one fan about the alleged tension, Ross tweeted with regard to West, “He was fine on my show. That’s the usual press bullsh*t.” When another follower said West should apologize to Ross, the host replied, “He doesn’t need to. He was charming friendly and didn’t misbehave. It’s the press.” A third person tweeted about West allegedly acting like a “5 year old who wouldn’t talk,” to which Ross said, “He behaved well.” Ross told yet another Twitter follower, “[West] was lovely.”
Apparently, fans weren’t getting the message. Another person wrote to Ross, “Why do we have to tolerate spoilt (sic) brats like KW. If media didn’t pander to the likes of him/her they might grow up.” Ross replied, “He behaved fine. It’s the media who are up to no good, not him.” No video from West’s upcoming appearance has surfaced yet, so it’s difficult to say the extent to which the media exaggerated any issues he had with Ross. But it sure seems like the host and West got along much better than the sensational tabloid press would have everyone believe.
