Kanye West: “Why Do People Not Want Me To Be Me?”
Kanye West went on a philosophical rant of sorts on Monday, defending his personality and questioning why people don’t accept him for who he is.
West’s latest tweets started off with a business angle. After writing, “Uuuuum… hi everybody,” the rapper made an announcement. “I was thinking about not making CDs ever again… Only streaming,” he posted. “The Yeezus album packaging was an open casket to CDs r.i.p. uuuuuuum, so there it is… No more CDs from me.”
But then West abruptly switched topics. “Question… Why do people not want me to be me?” he asked. “I want people to be the best version of themselves and I will be the best version of me. Growing and learning but not being told to stop …not being stunted.”
“Please avoid trying to talk me out of being me in the future,” West continued. He concluded, for now, with “###hashtag all positive vibes.”
West’s tweets seemed to be intended to hit back at all the criticism he’s received over the last two months for being brutally honest. The star’s candor has included ripping other artists, such as Taylor Swift and Wiz Khalifa, bashing the Grammys, and repeatedly declaring how great he is. Amid rumors that even wife Kim Kardashian was tired of his egotistical persona, the reality star wrote on her blog that she wanted “everyone to be as honest as Kanye.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Kardashian also said she hated that “people don’t get that Kanye will stand up against the whole world for his creativity and art.” Clearly, West is upset about the same things. So just don’t talk him out of being him, okay?
