Kanye West isn’t getting dirty with trash cleanup as he fulfills his community service. He’s going glam by teaching at a fashion school.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, in March the rapper was sentenced to 250 hours of labor after pleading no contest for assaulting a paparazzo last summer. He’s since put in time at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC), most recently on Monday, where he reportedly spoke about his experience in the fashion design industry.
One ecstatic student tweeted today, “OMFG I JUST SAW KANYE WEST IN THE FLESH. HE WALKED IN MY CLASS AND WE MADE EYE CONTACT #starstruck @kanyewest #lattc My school > Yours.” TMZ reports that in addition to West’s three visits to LATTC, he’s also made appearances at other area colleges.
He’s due back in court next month for a hearing on his progress. Of course, many people associate community service with manual labor, like picking up trash, or at least work involving philanthropic causes or activities, such as feeding the homeless. Teaching students about something you’re already passionate about doesn’t seem like quite the same thing.
What do you think of West serving his sentence by teaching about fashion?
