Kim Kardashian Rents L.A.’s Staples Center For Kanye West Basketball Birthday Party (PHOTOS)
Kim Kardashian rented out the Staples Center in L.A. for Kanye West’s 38th birthday, so he could shoot hoops with some of his favorite NBA players and friends. Khloe Kardashian revealed West’s big surprise, which Kim teased earlier on Monday, by sharing a photo of the rapper on the basketball court surrounded by several players and pals. “Kim rented out staples b*tch!!! Him and his boys are goin to ball!!!! Happy birthday Yeezy!!” Khloe captioned the photo. See the pictures below.
Kim paid a reported $110,000 to rent the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, and definitely went all out for West’s surprise. John Legend sang the National Anthem, John Salley was the announcer, and rapper 2 Chainz served as a coach. West played ball with NBA stars James Harden, Russell Westbrook and John Wall, as well as, Tyga, Justin Bieber, and Pusha T. Kim even hired Lakers’ cheerleaders to provide a little entertainment for the guys as they played, and had real NBA referees officiating the game. The rapper and his teammates were naturally wearing jerseys that read “West.”
Kylie Jenner and Khloe were on hand for the basketball birthday bash. Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Scottie Pippen, Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant couldn’t make the party, but all sent in video messages that were played on the jumbotron, wishing West a happy birthday.
As Gossip Cop noted, Kim hinted at the basketball surprise, tweeting, “Kanye’s bday today is gonna be a major SWISH!!! I planned the craziest surprise!” The pregnant reality TV star also wished her rapper husband a happy birthday, writing on Twitter, “Happy birthday 2my best friend in the entire world! U R the most amazing husband &dad! U inspire me every single day. You make all of your dreams reality & it’s fascinating to be by your side & watching it all happen! You have a heart of gold! @kanyewest.”
