REPORT: Kanye West In American Idol Judge Talks

Kanye West is reportedly in talks for “American Idol.”

The rapper is “negotiating with producers” on the hit singing competition, according to TMZ.

That said, NOTHING has been confirmed about how serious or advanced the reported talks between West and “American Idol” are.

Gossip Cop has reached out to all sides.

FOX would not comment on the report.

It’s worth pointing out that there has been a steady stream of names rumored for the judges’ panel in the period since Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced their departures.

Only Mariah Carey has officially joined the show, with Nicki Minaj reportedly very close to a deal.

West joins a long list of rumored male additions ranging from Brad Paisley to Enrique Iglesias.

    Well, that raises the stakes on why not to watch Idol. Does no one remember Taylor Swift? How about a humiliated Beyonce? Do you really think he is mature enough to judge newbies and help them with their careers? Maybe we should get Chris Brown, too. He could just slap some sense into these kids and tell them how if you’re mostly naked but have a decent body you TOO can succeed in the music world. If it wasn’t so sad, it would be funny.

    I would be glad to see Kanye as a judge, I think he has a lot of creative and artistic feedback to provide. I love the idea of having A-list popular music acts as judges, I think this idea works really well considering they are current in the industry and knowledgeable on the ins and outs. This show gives my Dish coworkers and I a lot to talk about thankfully. This season I won’t be missing an episode because my Hopper will record it automatically with the Prime Time Anytime feature. I love that with this feature I don’t have to set up timers for prime time programming on major networks. It’s effortlessly convenient.

    thankfully I stopped watching idol a few seasons back. Doesn’t matter to me what loser they get to judge.
