Kaitlyn Bristowe And Shawn Booth Engaged: Former “The Bachelor” And “The Bachelorette” Stars React, Offer Congrats
Former “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” stars are taking to Twitter to react to Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth’s engagement.
As Gossip Cop reported, Bristowe accepted Booth’s proposal on Monday’s season finale of “The Bachelorette.” On the live “After The Final Rose” special, they revealed they’re still together, though on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America,” Bristowe said they’re in “no rush” to get married. And as the franchise’s previous stars know, this is the time their relationship can really begin.
Last season’s Bachelorette, Andi Dorfman, who is no longer with her chosen fiancé Josh Murray, tweeted Monday night, “Heck of a season!!! HUGE congrats to @kaitlynbristowe and @Shawn_Booth.” The former reality star even showed some support for her ex Nick Viall, who ended up runner-up two years in a row. “As much as I don’t care for Nick, I don’t wish a broken heart on anyone,” posted Dorfman, as Gossip Cop previously noted. And Murray himself tweeted, “Happy couple time, congrats to Kaitlyn and Shawn, enjoy the redeye to NYC and continue being real!”
Ali Fedotowsky, whose season 6 engagement to Roberto Martinez didn’t last, wrote on Twitter, “Very happy for @KaitlynBristowe and @Shawn_Booth! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness.” And season 5’s Jillian Harris, whose former fiancé Ed Swiderski just got married, tweeted, “@Shawn_Booth @kaitlynbristowe love you too poopers. Congratulations loves!!!!!”
Meanwhile, DeAnna Pappas of season 4, who is now wed to the brother of a former “Bachelorette” contestant, posted on her page, “Well, I missed the entire season but glad I was able to catch the last bit of tonight’s episode. Another happy couple, for now. Hope lasts.” Catherine Giudici, wife of season 17 Bachelor Sean Lowe, hilariously observed, “Sean/Shawn. Always a good choice.”
On Tuesday, season 7’s Ashley Hebert, who is married to her “Bachelorette” winner J.P. Rosenbaum, tweeted, “Congrats @kaitlynbristowe !!! Wishing you love, happiness and freedom!!” For his part, Rosenbaum amusingly wrote, “Spoiler: And they lived happily ever after….or at least for the next few months. #TheBachelorette.” He then added more seriously, “Mazel tov @kaitlynbristowe!!”
“Congrats @kaitlynbristowe and @Shawn_Booth! So happy for you two,” wrote Whitney Bischoff, Bristowe’s former “Bachelor” competitor. Of course, as Gossip Cop has reported, Bischoff and reigning Bachelor Chris Soules split about six months after getting engaged, and he has yet to comment now on his ex’s engagement. Nikki Ferrell, another winner whose engagement (to infamous season 18 Bachelor Juan Pablo) didn’t last, posted, “You made it @kaitlynbristowe and @Shawn_Booth. Wishing you all the happiness in the world.”
And then there’s season 13’s Jason Mesnick, who famously broke up with Melissa Rycroft on his “After The Final Rose” special, and asked runner-up Molly Malaney for a second chance. They’re now married, and while Malaney live-tweeted the episode, revealing they’ve already spoken to Bristowe and Booth and “love them both so much,” Mesnick simply tweeted, “Congratulations @kaitlynbristowe @Shawn_Booth wishing you both all of the happiness in the world.”
