Justin Timberlake Pays Tribute To Taylor Swift At iHeartRadio Music Awards (VIDEO)
Timberlake paid tribute to Swift for winning Best Tour for her “1989 World Tour.” “Some people are out here to build walls, not naming any names,” the singer joked while introducing Swift, and the crowd had a mixed reaction to his Donald Trump reference. “Oh, shut up. You’re not even old enough to vote,” the singer amusingly said to the audience before adding, “Taylor chooses to bring down walls.”
Timberlake named some of the guests who joined the singer on her massive tour, many of them in the crowd at Sunday’s show. He then noted that the singer has already won over 250 awards in her short career. “My still very young and very prolific friend, Taylor Swift,” Timberlake said as she took to the stage.
“I want to start by thanking Justin Timeberlake for the example he’s set for all the artists in this room, ” Swift said. “I think that one of my favorite things about this tour was the camaraderie I felt by all the artists that came out.” She went on to give shout-outs to pals like Jason Derulo, Fetty Wap, Selena Gomez and Serayah, all of whom made appearances during her tour. “I’m so thankful to anyone who came out and donated the time to surprise my crowds,” the superstar added.
Swift also took time to thank her boyfriend Calvin Harris, who was sitting in the audience. “I had the amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and the crowds were all gone,” she continued. “So I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that.” Swift also won Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for 1989, two of the night’s biggest honors. The album award was presented to her by best friend Gomez. Check out the video below!
