Justin Timberlake is taking another swing at his Mirimichi golf course in Memphis.

The singing star is set to close the course from January 15-July 17 in order to do a multimillion-dollar overhaul on the greens, bunkers, and the green life around the course. Timberlake hopes that these improvements will transform Mirimichi into a “world class” course that will play host to a major tournament by 2020.

Timberlake, who’s hired top-tier golf course designers, says he “planned to make these improvements over the next three years and stay open… But I felt the Memphis community deserves the best now and shouldn’t have to wait through three years of gradual improvements. So I challenged the team to make all the changes by our first anniversary [July 25].”

Oh my goodness. When I first read the title, I thought it meant he had to colse it for good, like it wasn’t doing well or making any money. It upset me. My heart sank for the brief moment.
I’m so happy to see that it’s only going to be closed for a short time to make improvements. I know Justin considers this place to be one of his “babies”, and he and everyone involved have all been verry proud of it. So I can understand why he’d feel that it’s important to have it running at its very best as soon as possible instead of making the public wait.
I know how much a perfectionist he can be, especially when it comes to things like this that are important to him. So I can only imagine how much nicer this golf course is going to be after they do everything to it that he and the others involved want done.
