Justin Timberlake and Ashley Olsen are “hooking up,” according to one of Us Weekly‘s “sources.”

Of course, Us Weekly has also made claims about Timberlake being with Olivia Munn (wrong) and ex Cameron Diaz (wrong) and Mila Kunis (wrong).

While acknowledging that he and Olsen have been friendly for a long time, the magazine suggests that “a spark was ignited in recent weeks when both found themselves in NYC at the Greenwich Hotel (albeit in separate rooms).”

Timberlake and Olsen have been spotted in many of the same locations lately – plays, parties, a polo match – which makes Us Weekly suspect things are getting steamy.

“The timing [is] ideal for a no-strings-attached romance” after this past March, argues the tabloid, when Timberlake split with Jessica Biel and Olsen broke up with Justin Bartha.

Apparently, the fact that they’re both single and running in the same circles is enough for the mag to say Timberlake and Olsen are having a “fling.”

“The coupling of the ‘SexyBack’ singer and the entrepreneur may surprise some,” notes Us Weekly.

No one would be more surprised than the pair themselves, because there’s been no “coupling.”

They’ve chatted openly at various public group outings in recent days, which makes an Us Weekly source’s claim that Timberlake and Olsen are “really trying to keep it on the down-low” sound even more absurd.
