When we saw Justin Bieber’s bruised and bloody Complex photo spread on Monday, we had a flashback to another time and another Justin!

Back in Autumn/Winter 2001-02, Justin Timberlake – then a fresh-faced, squeaky-clean pop idol – posed in similar fashion for Arena Homme.

Maybe it’s a generational thing: Once a decade, a maturing megastar named Justin must be beaten bloody for a magazine.

    I wasn’t hating on Bieber and haven’t seen a comment yet on this post that sounds like anyone is hating on him. I said it wasn’t surprising he was trying to emulate Timberlake. Why wouldn’t he. Timberlake is enormously talented.

    Actually according to LA Reid, he said he didn’t think Timberlake had made an offer on Bieber. He went and saw him but Usher put in the offer before Timberlake had the chance. LA said he thinks they just used the, Timberlake made an offer, to get a better deal from Interscope Records.

    Beiber only did what the photographer told him to do, but it’s not surprising that Beiber would try to emulate Timberlake’s career. Timberlake tried to emulate Michael Jackson’s before he became too good for music. So, if Timberlake is over music then there’s the other Justin…they are inter-changable except for their ages.

    I definitely like JT’s so much better, its quite unique for my perspective. It’s sorta like a cover picture of a movie… I forgot what it’s called something with cage fighting, while JBiebs looks plain. Both the picture shows blood and having a fist fight of some sort. In JT’s it looks like he won the fight, while in JBiebs it looks like his ass just got a huge beat, cause it looks like he’s falling down the ground.

    It’s amazing to me how when Bieber’s fans even think someone is saying something against Bieber, even when they’re not, they go on the attack. It just shows how very young and not very well brought up they are. They threaten people with death on twitter and just get plain nasty over nothing. I’ll be glad when his fans grow up. Hopefully then they’ll realize how ridiculous they sound.
