Justin Theroux “In Touch” Interview: Tabloid Flip-Flops On Jennifer Aniston Marriage
In the tabloid’s new issue, Theroux is quoted as talking about how wonderful married life is. “I’m very happy,” says “The Leftovers” star. “We are having a great time.” The magazine touts that Theroux told the outlet “exclusively” how he and Aniston “have found their groove as husband and wife.”
But In Touch’s exploitation of Theroux’s sincere comments is galling because it comes after the outlet ran a “Divorce Bombshell” cover story in September, announcing his marriage to Aniston was “over after two months.” The tabloid quoted a so-called “friend” as saying, “They’re both desperately unhappy. Things are so bad, I think Justin is ready to file divorce papers.”
It was a complete and utter fabrication, which Gossip Cop was the first to exclusively correct. A rep told us the claims were “B.S.,” and that the newlyweds were happier than ever. Theroux’s comments now confirm our reporting.
Not surprisingly, In Touch makes no mention of these lies in its new article about the couple. And there’s of course no reference to any of the other fictional tales the tabloid has published over the years, including false breakup stories and untrue pregnancy announcements. The magazine spread this misinformation to sell newsstands copies, and its flip-flopping now is still only to serve itself, not readers.
