Justin Bieber Sued For $650,000 By Team Productions
Justin Bieber is being sued for $650,000 by Team Productions over a broken contract and a disparaging tweet regarding a canceled appearance last year.
As Gossip Cop reported, Bieber pulled out of an event at Beachclub in Montreal last August with just hours’ notice. He tweeted at the time, “Montreal due to the promoter of today’s event breaking his contract and lying I will not be able to attend today’s event. I’m sorry. I look forward to coming back to Montreal in the future to do a proper show but I will not be able to attend 2day due to this breach. Thanks.”
It was said back then that Bieber backed out after only being paid half the money he was due to receive. But now Team Productions is firing back, alleging the superstar was the one who initially broke the deal. In a new lawsuit, the company claims Bieber failed to fulfill his contractual obligation to promote the event after being given his initial payment of $250,000.
And because he wasn’t plugging the appearance on social media as expected, Team Productions did not want to pay the full $175,000 worth of remaining money he was owed. Last-minute negotiations to change the dollar figure apparently failed, leading Bieber to bail. But Team Productions says Bieber then seriously damaged its reputation by accusing them of “lying” in his aforementioned tweets.
The legal documents claim the company’s business has been negatively affected, and now Team Productions is seeking at least $650,000 in damages. Gossip Cop has reached out to Bieber’s rep for comment. Team Productions’ logo can be seen on the event poster above.
