Justin Bieber Responds to Black Keys Diss: He Should Be “Slapped Around”

Truth rating: 10

(ITV)

Justin Bieber is responding to Patrick Carney, The Black Keys drummer who dissed him after the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Carney told TMZ that the teen singer was not worthy of a Grammy nomination, saying, “Grammys are for like music, not for money.”

On Tuesday, The Biebs hit back at the rocker, tweeting, “The black keys drummer should be slapped around haha.”

Carney, for his part, is seemingly regretting his statements about the pop star.

He wrote on Twitter, “It’s cool when you get cornered outside your hotel by a guy with a camera and they ask you a dumb question and then put it on TV. :(”

Carney later responded to Bieber’s tweet with another sad face.

What do you think of this “feud”?

Carney should know better than to diss a fellow artist like that-he came across as an elitist snub-a lot of artists at the awards shows are like that-snubs

  • javi g

wow how immature of him. its shows that he hasen’t grow up.

  • http://twitter.com/RauhlOnBieber Justin Bieber Fan

Statements as ”He’s too rich, he doesn’t deserve a grammy” should BE SLAPPED AROUND.

  • Jojojet

I don’t think Justin Bieber has made any Grammy worthy music. Not saying he’s not capable he just hasn’t yet. And the fact that he wants to slap some one around for an opinion makes him an asshole.

  • Fuzzy Worms

Looks like da Biebs has sand in his no no place.

If an artist’s music is not my type, it does not mean it is not good or that the person is not talented. Also Vinnie manilli won a grammy yet they were a fraud, whereas, great artists like Queen and Diana Ross among others never won one. the grammys do not determine what or who is talented.

I’m sorry I’m team carney here. Justin beiber is nothing more then garbage pop music that will be regulated to the discount bin once his fan bases grow up and discover better and purer talent like the keys, fun. etc. Beiber threw a tantrum because he got a nomination in a slow year for the industry. IT HAppens.

It was a joke you morons. Will you people just get a life. Most of these stupid comments are put on by the writer and his co-workers to solicit responses to make their page seem relevant.

  • gregoryd

Lets compare their spread sheets and see who has the most money, popularity and fans. hmmm Maybe that has some relevance on his talent. But then again, I guess those 40 or so million fans are all wrong and your right huh.

  • gregoryd

I actually think he probably did not mean it the way it came out. He is kinda back tracking on it now. I would bet bieber and him have talked and the slap comment is a joke.

  • Carla

40 million people with bad music taste are wrong.

  • gregoryd

Who determines what Grammy music is worthy. I mean tiny Tim was nominated for tip toe through the tulips. gimme a break. You have a few snobs who determine he is not Grammy worthy as opposed to the 40 or so million fans who say he is. Why is there no opera at the Grammy s after all they have the best voices of all? It is fixed by the big labels to promote their artists and they do not like school boy records. That is Just the way it is. As far as the slap around it was a joke you moron.

  • ginnea

I don’t think P.Carney meant for it to sound as a bad comment-but leave it TO TMZ to turn it into drama. Respect both artist not TMZ.

  • Jamie

Money doesn’t measure his ‘musical success”. He was branded properly to tweens and has so many products out there as well. If he can stick it out the next 10 years in the business, then I may start to take him seriously.

  • Lindsey

Based on that argument it would mean Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne are also talented, hahahaha. Nice try, Bieber sucks.

  • http://www.facebook.com/crusader666 Crusader

His acoustical versions over the years with Dan Kanter (and others) playing piano and/or guitar (like they did on Saturday Night Bieber this month) are amazing and THOSE are definitely Grammy material. I don’t care for the over-produced numbers with 500 dancers and all that crap unless it’s a well-choreographed video, ala Michael Jackson style.

  • anakin

Queen and Diana Ross were too GRANDES for grammys ;)

  • gregoryd

They are wrong but I guess you are right huh. Talk about arrogance.lol Music is measured by sales and the desire of people to listen to it. He is still the biggest star on the planet right now in regard to his following and probably sales. That must count for something. There is not a record label in the world that wouldn’t give up their first born to sign him. Popularity of his music should give him a grammy with out a doubt. Who determines what is good music you or a few people in the industry. Maybe it should be the people that buy the records. Why do we even have charts? After all they could just ask you who is the best.lol

  • gregoryd

What does measure his success? Your approval or is it the people who buy the records. Every artist that won a Grammy, would give it up in a minute to achieve his success. Hey achy breaky heart was nominated for best song of the year. I guess that was ok huh.

  • gregoryd

I do agree with you on Nicki Minaj and never listened to Lil Wayne. But that does not mean I would cut them down. If they are selling the records then they should be recognized. Remember everyone’s taste in music is not the same. That does not mean you should cut it down. BTW I am not that fond of biebers music either. I liked a couple of his older songs but was not impressed with his new album, but would never be arrogant enough to think that my opinion is right and everyone else is wrong.

  • Omg

    You spoke for me. Thanks.

  • Annie

Me too. Everyone has likes and dislikes when it comes to music. It takes many people and many votes to determine who gets and who does not get a Grammy. And it also includes record sales…..so it is about money up to a point. Too bad celebs feel the need to judge and criticize their competition. And yes….Justine Bieber IS competition for the Black Keys, who are only as good as they think they are.

Exactly! Finally, a post that makes sense.

  • Guest

    Right again!

  • DontNeedAUsername

He’s already even in the business for six years.

  • DontNeedAUsername

The immature one was the one who began the bullshit in the first place.

  • Guest

Opinion? No the asshole was the one who started the crap and assholes are the ones always talking shit about like little bullies

  • DontNeedAUsername

Amen. Michael Jackson didnt even win till he was wayyy older

  • Guest

Clearly they’re fans thin otherwise just cause you don’t like rap don’t make it not music

  • jami

of course bieber fans are going to talk trash about Patrick Carney because every bieber fan ive ever come across have perma blinders on. its ok to defend who you prefer but it should come to who performs better live, and I have to give it to The Black Keys. I think bieber fans are a little to hardcore about him, theres a lot of things that have happened that shows he hasn’t grown up yet, that tweet being one of them. And for all you angry tweens, don’t bother trying to attempt to be rude to me because I don’t care and you’ll grow out of it soon

  • Guest

Hopefully you’ll grow out of contradicting yourself as well.

  • Guest

I went to his show when he came to my area. All the females I saw were all old enough to get to clubs so everytime young folks state thy his fans consist of little girls I can’t help but laugh. Cause at the show I went to two bars alone at the coliseum sold out. He does have older fans people jus have grasp that fact yet. Doesn’t mater what his fans say. The black keys fans are hardcore and will defend their idiot. Taylor swift fans will defend her. Hell Britney spear fans will defend her that’s the point of a fan. They’re going to side with their idol majority of the time. Point of the fact is who made the comment starting all this? EXACTLY so that person is in the wrong for opening their mouth negatively in the first place. If you start shit you can’t get mad over how the person responds.

  • DontNeedAUsername

Couldn’t agree more. This article was about what JUSTIN Said in response to defend himself one what that guy said about him. Not his fans. This is about celebs starting beef with another for drama and attention . Smh

  • rocknrollsuicide

Vinnie Manilli? Was that done on purpose?

  • yourmom

you are the dead of music
