Agree 100%. This young man is a millionaire many times over and can afford a suit. Very disrespectful. Sports people are allowed to wear their specific uniforms at times though, as they did when the entire team went to the White House, but that is a different event. All of the young women on the US Olympics team who went to the White House were dressed up. So, age has nothing to do with knowing how to respect the leader of your country, especially if you are receiving an award.

Firstly, I don’t understand all these comments about his parents. Secondly, if Stephen Harper didn’t like Justin’s outfit, he wouldn’t say so. There’s no point. What’s done is done and I sure the Prime Minister has bigger problems to deal with. I do think it was a bit of a stunt to wear such an outfit to such a formal event. It was most definitely disrespectful. But I would venture to guess that one of his promoters recommended his choice of clothes. In the world of fame, attention, whether good or bad, is always good for business. And this certainly has turned into a hot topic. Easy publicity. And no one, who’s in his inner circle, especially his mom, would say something bad about this. No mother who loves her son would publicly humiliate him. Would you? If she had a problem with his outfit then I’m sure she told him so in private. As far as what I think about it, it was inappropriate. I personally think there were more deserving recipients for this award, and I don’t think it showed further disrespect to show up to see the leader of his country in a sloppy outfit when he had the sensibility to dress up to meet our neighbor’s president. Not only was he under dressed, but he went as far as to dress down from his usual wardrobe.
