Justin Bieber announced on Tuesday he’s “done taking pictures” with his fans, and now they’re reacting to the new no photo policy.

As Gossip Cop reported, Bieber shared in a lengthy Instagram post that he now feels like a “zoo animal,” and explained that he doesn’t feel that he “owes” his fans the right to snap a pic simply because they bought his album. Reactions to the singer’s announcement were mixed. Instagram user @eggslut_ wrote, “I love your music and I am a fan but I just can’t support you in this because this is just a little to much I know so many other artist that probably feel the same way as you but they choose not to do this because they know that they do it out of love.”

A user by the name @claudia_riv3Um said she was on verge of tears, writing, “I feel like I am gonna cry now I really have to chance of meeting the person that saved me this is THE worst news ever I don’t understand now I have to save up 2,000 friggin dollars to see my idol I don’t know what to say I love just to the moon and back but and understand his life is hard but it’s not fair to the fans who wouldn’t ever treat him like a so called ‘zoo animal’ love you but it’s not fair to me think about this and he other fans that have worked to try and see you. Think.”

Some fans like, @simply__miaLiterally, argued Bieber knew what to expect before embarking on a life in the spotlight. “Your fans are the ones who buy your albums and help you be successful. Without them you wouldn’t be as famous as you are now and you wouldn’t have sold out shows worldwide. We understand that you don’t want your picture taken ALL the time but you kinda signed up for it. Your fans waist THEIR money on YOUR albums and you can’t even give them a PICTURE in return. Smh,” the frustrated Bieber fan said.

But many other Beliebers support his choice to nix fan photo ops when he’s out on his own time. User @nishizzlee__ wrote, “YASSSSS JUSTIN I LOVE HOW YOU’RE TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF IM PROUD OF YOU. The singer’s follower @kimberlymoriahJustin also remarked, “He doesnt owe you sh*t. He’s only human, some of you expect way to much of him. Stop your bitching and get used to disappointment. Its a part of life. Let the man be. Damn… I feel for you @justinbieber Im sorry about all the sh*t you have to deal with. Stay strong and do you. You’re going to be alright.”

And user @nilssonsuzanna added, “Sounds reasonable. Must suck to be treated this way long enough to get to thus point.” Bieber hasn’t responded to the feedback.

UPDATE: Bieber returned to Instagram to highlight a comment that said, “You’re suck a pr*ck. Your fans are the reason you are as successful as you are. The least you could do is take pictures with them. I’m sure it’s annoying not being able to live a ‘normal’ life, but ‘normal’ isn’t what you signed up for. Get over it and stop being a douche.”

Bieber responded, “Years ago it was impossible to even take a picture at anytime not everyone was accessible to a camera now everyone has a camera phone and Now it’s just a different thing. If you think setting boundaries is being a douche I’m the biggest douche around but I think it’s smart and will be the only way I last. I wanna enjoy life and not be a slave to the world and their demands of what they think I need to do!! I love the fact that I am able to make people happy but cmon if you truly were in my position you would understand how tiring it is ( boo hoo Justin get over it) I’m going to keep making decisions I feel are fit for my growth and no human being will make me feel bad for it.”
