Justin Bieber, Cristiano Ronaldo Movie Report NOT True
Picking up a claim from the Mirror without bothering to fact-check, HollywoodLife writes, “Is Justin Bieber gearing up to add ‘actor’ to his resume?! The singer is reportedly in final talks to star in a major Hollywood blockbuster, and if it all pans out, he’ll be playing a soccer stud alongside Cristiano Ronaldo!” The site claims Bieber “would reportedly play a young, hopeful soccer player who gets discovered overnight and quickly becomes a sensation.”
“The movie is allegedly expected to start filming in March 2017, which gives the Biebs plenty of time to wrap up his Purpose tour, which ends this fall, before getting into this new venture,” says the webloid. The outlet also regurgitates one of the British paper’s supposed sources as saying, “The film is well into the pre-production stages and the hope is that Bieber will sign on in the coming weeks. It is a great opportunity for him and could be one of the biggest films of 2017 if all of his fans and the fans of Ronaldo go to the cinema.”
And, in addition to it being claimed Weinstein is behind the film, HollywoodLies notes, “Clint Eastwood is also reportedly being touted to play the 22-year-old’s grandfather.” And yet no reputable trade publication has reported on any such project. Now a rep for Bieber exclusively tells Gossip Cop that the singer is NOT involved with this supposed film.
