Justin Bieber stole James Corden’s opening monologue as he fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams in a hilarious segment on Thursday’s “Late Late Show.” Watch video below!

After Corden’s name was announced at the top of the show, Bieber came through the curtain to kick off the show and received a standing ovation from the stunned studio audience. He then started off his monologue with some jokes, cracking that “President Obama revealed that his favorite song of 2015 was ‘How Much a Dollar Cost’ by Kendrick Lamar. And not to be outdone, but Hillary Clinton revealed that her favorite song of 2015 is ‘Whatever Will Get You to Like Me.'” But just as Bieber was getting warmed up, an enraged Corden came through the curtain in a bathrobe with a towel on his presumably wet hair.

Corden yelled at his band that they shouldn’t have started the show. “I’m getting in the bath. I’ve lit a scented candle. I hear the music. Clearly, I’m not ready,” he said. Bieber then apologized to Corden for hijacking his monologue, noting he was “Sorry.” Corden didn’t accept it, prompting a stunned Bieber to ask, “What do you mean?” The talk show host told him, “Now you’re just naming your own songs. That’s pathetic.”

Bieber then explained that he’s “always wanted to host a late night show” but a still annoyed Corden kicked him off the stage, which resulted in boos from the studio audience. After feeling bad and still getting booed, Corden relented and let Bieber open the show.

Bieber and Corden became fast friends in 2015. As Gossip Cop previously reported, the singer has played drums with the band on the show and appeared in two of “Carpool Karaoke” segments.
